Please join me in celebrating my bday and party rooted in purpose.
On Sunday, Nov 16th, some of my absolute FAVORITE DJ's are donating their time and talent so we can lend our support to causes that require our urgent attention: rebuilding Jamaica after Hurricane Melissa, the ongoing crisis in Sudan, and families here in NYC dealing with the loss of SNAP benefits.
My goal is to raise $10,000 as a collective, and I am confident that we can exceed it.
Every dollar goes directly to the Sudan Solidarity Collective, Haboba’s House, Well Calm Jamaica, Brooklyn Arts Council , and City Harvest. I've vetted these efforts to make sure our dollars count.
I'm entering my Jackie Robinson year, and while I want to celebrate it's impossible to ignore the fact that so many people are struggling. We don't have to wait for someone else to act. We can show up and do something.
Joy is resistance. Love is liberation. Music is medicine. Community is how we survive.
We are the ones we’ve been waiting for - let’s get it poppin’.
NOTE: If you’re making a larger donation, $250+ I suggest donating directly to the orgs I’ve listed above and sending me a screenshot so that I can add the amount (no personal details) to our collective donation totals. Tax incentives are important and I want to make sure you can get your charitable donation credit as you support this effort. All org links are above - note, not all are 501C3 in the case of mutual aid.
I’ll be sharing a screenshot of our final collective donations once I’ve tallied everything up for transparency.
Unless otherwise specified in your donation message, I’ll be splitting all funds raised evenly.
